Our client located in Scottsdale, AZ is adding a Senior Accountant to their team. This is a direct hire opportunity that starts as a 1099 and converts to a W2 in 2027.

Senior Accountant Role:
The Senior Accountant will serve as the primary accounting lead for the organization and play a key role in stabilizing and organizing the accounting function during a period of transition and growth.
This position is heavily transactional and high volume, requiring someone comfortable working in the weeds while managing core accounting operations independently.
Responsibilities include:
* preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
* maintaining the general ledger and reconciliations
* overseeing journal entries and month end close
* processing and managing high volume accounting activity
* supporting audit and tax preparation activities
* improving accounting workflows and helping automate manual processes
* assisting with cleanup and structure within the accounting department
* eventually helping oversee and delegate work to a future Staff Accountant

Senior Accountant Background Profile:
Required:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
* 5+ years of accounting experience
* experience handling full cycle accounting responsibilities
* strong reconciliations, month end close, and financial reporting experience
* advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
* ability to work independently with minimal oversight
* high attention to detail in a fast paced environment
Preferred:
* Senior Accountant level experience
* professional services industry background
* Sage Intacct experience
* experience cleaning up or improving disorganized accounting processes
* CPA or CMA designation
